VCCS Employment Services obtained funding from the Ontario Centre for Workforce Innovation and along with Wakeford and Associates conducted research in 2018 in “Identifying Competencies in Employer’s Hiring Practices” in the City of Kawartha Lakes area.
The Workforce Development Board/Local Employment Planning Council (WDB/LEPC) along with Wakeford & Associates completed a research project in 2016-2017 that included interviews with employers, service providers and job seekers in the counties of Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland, and Peterborough Ontario.
The courses developed here are a direct result of the research conducted in both projects.
